Baja Mission Trip 2021

January 8 - 16, 2021

Leader: Paul Wilcox

Host: Door of Faith Orphanage

We are once again planning our Baja Mission trip. There are 4 main ways you can be involved in.

1) As always, we will be ministering to the broken people in forgotten places with our dear sister Lupita, with food, supplies, and most of all, hope through the love of Jesus. We ALWAYS see miracles and salvations. You can help by providing food boxes. We usually deliver around 100 at a cost of $14 per. Note your check or online giving as, “Mexico – food boxes”

2) We have a special focus this year; a chance to be part of a HUGE blessing. We will build a house for Lupita which will include a community prayer and ministry area. Her current house is a shack built about 40 years ago and it is falling down around her. She has no indoor plumbing as her gravity-fed water system failed years ago. The roof is caving in and walls are full of rot and it is literally making her sick. And yet, she keeps her house as clean and tidy as possible.

Lupita has devoted her entire life to caring for those around her and showing them the love the Christ. She fearlessly and faithfully shares the Gospel wherever she goes. Building this house and community area is a large undertaking and will cost around $20,000. We have raised about half of that so far. If you feel led to give to this construction project, please do! Note your check or online gift as, “Mexico – House build”.

3) You can cover us and the places and people we visit in prayer. Pray for Lupita, pray for Door of Faith Orphanage, pray for the people we minister to, and pray for the team going down.

4) You can come with us! Please prayerfully consider joining us and see a little of what God is doing in Baja Mexico! If you are interested please contact paulwilcox@outlook.com  You don’t have to have construction skills to come along, there will be plenty of other things to do. But, if you do have construction skills that would help tremendously!

A little more about this special project:

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything-all she had to live on."

This, my friends, is Lupita. She is a single woman whose husband abandoned her 30 years ago. She works hard and has raised 3 children, providing by cleaning houses (which she still does any chance she gets). She has given everything she has, all she is, to serve the King. Every day, regardless of if she has any material items to give or even any food for herself, she goes out and she gives of herself to love, help, and care for the poor and broken. All she wants is to see people come to Jesus and follow him. With a smile and contagious joy, she brings hope to a desperate world.

Lupita is the Gospel in action. She travels all around the area (on foot for many years), starting small groups, teaching the Word, and making disciples. She does this work mostly alone as it is hard to find others with such unwavering zeal. She has relationships with various churches in the area and points people to them, but these are poor places, and she actually provides more support to them than they can to her.

One of her strongest ministry partners was a pastor named Sergio, he just died in the hospital in early June 2020, leaving behind his wife and children. She has since sold what little she has to help cover his funeral costs.

I support her as much as I am able because a few dollars in her hands go 1000 times farther than in mine. And I believe I will get to share in her reward.

“For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’

Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?’

And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’ “

This is where she currently holds community prayer services and ministry.

Going to the forgotten places…

Our group preparing the food boxes and us praying for a dying man, who accepted Christ.

WHO SHOULD COME:

  1. Anyone who wants to experience 3rd world missions.

  2. Anyone with existing missions experience – and/or frontline spiritual warfare experience (we get into some heavy stuff sometimes).

  3. Families who want to do a missions trip together.

  4.  Teens, as long as accompanied by a parent/guardian. Such a powerful experience for this age group.

SPECIFIC NEEDS WE HAVE:

  1. Spanish speakers – more is always better!

  2. Worship leaders/musicians (guitar or other small instrument is best as we are mobile most of the time).

  3. Photographer/videographer (we would love to have someone dedicated to visually documenting the trip).

  4. Prophetic and other spiritual gifts are always needed in abundance.

  5. Prayer covering by those not attending.

  6. Financial help is always appreciated as it helps us purchase the gift items.
